Description
M Tegaderm Absorbent Clear Acrylic Dressing Features:
- Transparent dressing allows for wound monitoring without changing the dressing.
- No dressing breakdown in the wound.
- Clear design takes the guesswork out of application over the wound.
- Low friction surface minimizes potential for friction and shear.
- Novel acrylic polymer pad technology designed to handle low to moderate wound drainage.
Dressing Application:
- Open package and remove sterile dressing. Peel liner from the dressing, exposing the adhesive surface.
- Position and center the dressing over the incision, adhesive side down.
- Gently press the dressing in place, smoothing from the center outward.
- Slowly remove the frame while smoothing the film border and applying firm pressure. Avoid stretching the dressing on the skin.
- Conform and smooth the dressing, gently pressing down on the edges to ensure optimal adhesion.
Prior to Application:
Cleanse the surgical incision and surrounding skin thoroughly. Allow the surrounding skin to dry before applying the dressing.
Evaluate the surgical incision and select the correct dressing size. The dressing pad should extend past ends of incision by 1 cm (3/8 inch). The acrylic pad is not intended to be cut.
Dressing Removal:
Please be advised that adhesive wound closure strips are likely to be removed when the 3M Tegaderm Absorbent Clear Acrylic Dressing is removed.
- Carefully lift the film edges from the skin. Continue to lift the border of the dressing to remove.
- Continue lifting film until all edges are free from the skin surface.
- Remove dressing slowly, folding over itself.
Tip: During use, it is normal for fluid to be absorbed throughout the pad. Drainage moving to the edge of the pad does not require a dressing change. The dressing should be changed at the discretion of the clinician.
